Vision Advantage combines the top nutrients I recommend for your eyes from around the world. You get thousands of years of ancient healing wisdom and the modern scientific advancements starting with the "King of Carotenoids"—astaxanthin.

Full 6 mg research dose of astaxanthin reduces eye strain and fatigue

Seems everyone is jumping on the astaxanthin bandwagon these days. Suddenly it's the "hot" antioxidant everyone is praising. I agree that astaxanthin is a powerful nutrient. That's why it's been a signature ingredient in my Vision Advantage formula—for years.

Astaxanthin comes from microalgae that are found in abundance from arctic marine environments to common fresh water rock pools throughout the world. It's what gives the pink and red color to salmon, shrimp, and lobster. Several double-blind, placebo studies have shown that a special form of astaxanthin helps reduce the symptoms of eyestrain and fatigue and supports eye health.

Plus, studies show that astaxanthin supports visual acuity. I've given you a full 6 mg of research level astaxanthin in each daily dose. But astaxanthin is just one of the many unique breakthroughs found in Vision Advantage.

The great Chinese herbal blend you won't find in other formulas

In China, I discovered their best-kept secret for healthy, keen vision—an ancient Chinese recipe called Hachimijiogan (pronounced ah-chi-mijo-jan) that's a precise blend of eight different herbs.

Research suggests this combination of herbs supports your eyes' lenses, nerves, and arteries. Specifically, it helps reduce free-radical stress, promote electrolyte balance in your lenses, and support blood flow in the retinal artery.

The 5,000-year-old Indian secret for healthy eyes

In India, one of their favorite solutions for lifelong, healthy vision is a famous Ayurvedic herbal complex called Triphala, which means "three fruits." When combined, the health-giving fruits support optimal eye health.

"Natural sunglasses" to filter out harmful blue light

Lutein and zeaxanthin work together to shield your eyes from absorbing blue light, the most high-energy and potentially most damaging kind of light that reaches your retina. Plus, this powerful duo helps support the health of your macula and lenses.

Antioxidant support to safeguard the health of your lenses

The biggest threat to your eyes is harmful free-radicals. In Vision Advantage, I've given you an arsenal of antioxidants, including N-Acetyl L-Cysteine (NAC), which is most effective at increasing glutathione levels. This is critical because glutathione is nature's shield for your eyes and lenses.

Nowhere else will you find supplements for eye health based on traditionally used vision breakthroughs from around the world and the latest scientific research and advances. Vision Advantage helps keep your eyes healthy in every way possible.

Science and Quality

Lutein and Zeaxanthin

One study published on lutein and eye health showed that 10 mg supplemented with or without other antioxidants supports visual function by increasing macula pigment density, and promotes visual acuity, contrast sensitivity, and glare recovery time.1

Another study examined subjects’ tolerance to glare. After four months of taking 10 mg of lutein and 2 mg of zeaxanthin daily, glare tolerance greatly increased. By six months, the time needed for subjects’ to see clearly again after viewing a bright glaring light significantly decreased.2

A combination of vitamin C (180 mg), vitamin E (45 IU), zinc (22.5 mg), copper (1 mg), lutein (10 mg), zeaxanthin (1 mg), and astaxanthin (4 mg) was tested in a double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical study. In the trial, subjects took the combination (or placebo) for one year. Researchers found that those taking the antioxidant supplement exhibited significant improvements in central vision.3

Astaxanthin

In a double-blind, placebo controlled trial, 59 subjects who regularly worked in front of computer monitors (VDTs) for at least 6 hours per day and complained of eye fatigue were randomly divided and given either 6 mg of astaxanthin or placebo for 4 weeks. At the end of the study, those taking the astaxanthin exhibited increased power of accommodation (how fast the eyes are able to switch focus from near to distant objects), and reduced symptoms of eye strain and fatigue.4

In a double-blind, placebo-controlled study, 26 healthy participants working in front of VDTs took 5 mg of astaxanthin (or placebo) for one month. At the end of the trial, those taking the supplement reported a 54% reduction in eye fatigue complaints. Their power of accommodation was also significantly improved.5

Vitamin A (as beta carotene)

Research suggests that a higher dietary intake of carotenoids is associated with healthy maintenance of macular tissue.6

Vitamin E

Epidemiological data suggests that higher intakes of vitamin E, including that from supplements, may help promote the health of the eye lenses.7

Vitamin C

Observational studies (studies in which researchers observe the participants to try to identify lifestyle factors associated with better health) tell us that people who regularly use vitamin C supplements are less likely to develop eye conditions associated with oxidative stress.8
