Pumpkin Spice Smoothie

With so many pumpkin spice lattes, shakes, and drinks in the market, I wanted to offer a healthy alternative to many of those sold which are high in fat and sugar. This will satisfy your seasonal craving while at the same time keeping your blood sugar stable and also providing the natural health benefits of pumpkin, especially in regards to warming your digestive system!

Ingredients

  • ½ cup pureed pumpkin

  • 1 cup almond milk

  • 2 frozen bananas

  • 2 dates

  • 1 scoop of whey powder

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

  • A ½ teaspoon of nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, ginger

In a blender combine all the ingredients and garnish with a cinnamon stick. This is a healthy alternative to the pumpkin lattes and sugar-saturated drinks popular in the Fall. The spices in this drink, as well as the use of pumpkin, is excellent for digestion due to the thermogenic qualities. The inclusion of whey powder would make this a great breakfast or an excellent pre-workout snack. The sweetness of this smoothie is all natural! Enjoy this delicious treat!
