As we become more aware of the importance of staying away from junk foods, we find ourselves changing our cooking as well as our eating habits. It's not always an easy change, especially when it comes to snack foods. But once you've made the adjustment, you'll start to see the many rewards of eating healthy.

When it comes to healthy choices, snack foods seem to be the hardest to find options for—especially ones that the whole family will enjoy. Here are some quick and easy options:

  • Frozen fruits. Some of the easiest snacks are fruit treats. Freeze a bunch of grapes for a cool refreshing snack. Children love them.
  • Fruit smoothie. Easy to prepare and a filling snack as well as a wholesome drink.
  • Fresh yogurt snacks. Just mix plain yogurt with fresh fruit such as bananas, strawberries, nuts, or granola and top with fresh grated coconut. It resembles a banana split, but with none of the dreaded calories or sugar.
  • Potato pizza.
  • Popcorn. Popcorn is one of the easiest and healthiest snacks to make. An air popper is excellent way to make popcorn since you don't use oil. Just be careful with the salt and butter.
