The media love a scary story, and boy, do they have one in the swine flu. Reports of outbreaks in schools, counts of the number of sick people, and public health preparations are in every media outlet practically every day. Some even go so far as to tell you what you can do about the flu.
That’s fine as far as it goes, but the advice is often of little use. Sure, washing your hands often and keeping them away from your eyes, nose, and mouth will help cut down on your exposure to viruses.
