Constipation Symptoms Identified
What common constipation symptoms can mean for your long-term health
Defining constipation symptoms is critical. Many doctors consider it adequate and normal to have anywhere from three bowel movements a day to three a week. It frightens me to think there are still some doctors out there who don't realize everyone should have at least one bowel movement a day—and if you eat three times a day, ideally you should have three. When it comes to constipation, don't kid yourself with the delusion that "everyone is different" or "this is normal for me."
Constipation is a serious health condition that can lead to numerous other problems. That's because as bowel movements slow down, toxic material remains in contact with the intestinal walls longer. The foreign material causes inflammation, and additional toxins are reabsorbed into your bloodstream. These additional toxins increase the workload of both your liver and kidneys. The slow-moving stools can also lead to diverticular disease.
